According to the data released by Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) Customs at a press conference on Feb. 1, SIP’s import and export value in 2022 totaled 715.13 billion yuan, accounting for 28% of Suzhou’s total, ranking first in the city.
Over the past 20 years, SIP Customs has created a new model for customs modernization and formed a batch of practices that can be replicated and promoted. In 2022, it made all-out efforts to support the high-quality development of the Suzhou Area of the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone (Suzhou FTZ area), ensure the smooth circulation of industrial and supply chains, and further optimize the business environment. SIP Customs implemented a number of innovative measures, among which 3 were selected into the 3rd batch of innovation practices of the China (Jiangsu) Pilot Free Trade Zone and 3 made the list of the top 10 cases of institutional innovation of the Suzhou FTZ area in 2022.
Last year, the import-export value of the Suzhou FTZ area reached 531.67 billion yuan, accounting for 74.3% and 20.7% of the total volume in SIP and in Suzhou City, respectively.
